At our last meeting the BEARS selected a Committee to work on a focused message about Volunteer Emergency Communications support to the County.  Serving on this committee are: Karen Power, KD4DJX & Eric Power, KD4DJW, Dan Fisher, KG4DSJ, and Ozzie, N4SCY.  Please feel free to share your ideas about with these wonderful dedicated Volunteer Emergency Communicators.

Ed Wirth, KG4KVO, has volunteered to work on the BEARS web page, part of Brevard County's OEM web site, so don't be shocked if it starts to look really good!  Feel free to share your suggestions with Ed.
The Brevard County ARC Disaster Services is moving its office to their Melbourne Office, on Hickory, just down the street from the Salvation Army building.  Joe Mitchell, K4AW, has offered to serve as their Communications POC.
Brevard County ARES/RACES nets on Wednesdays, at 9am and again at 7pm, on 147.135.  The BEARS meet at 7pm, on the second Tuesday of the month at the County EOC in Rockledge.  Talk-in frequency is 147.135.  Our meetings are open, but you must have valid identification and you must sign -in at the front desk, so come a little early.  If you have any questions, please give me a call: 264-2492.
Please remember that Volunteer Emergency Communicators are a big part of the total Homeland Security effort.  When Ed and I ask for volunteers, we're not asking for a whole day, just an hour or two, so maybe another volunteer can take a lunch break or something.  Please consider helping us get the message out at these Public Service and Awareness events.  Thank you.
