And we'll have the ARES Registration Forms if you want to sign up. So get that Hairdo or a close shave, whatever is appropriate, because we'll have the camera on hand for the badges. Please don't forget; Volunteer Emergency Communicators are a big part of
the total Homeland Security effort.
Brevard County ARES/RACES' net is every Wednesdays, at 9am and again at 7pm, on 147.135The BEARS meet at 7pm, on the second Tuesday of the month at the County EOC in Rockledge. Talk-in frequency is 147.135. Our meetings are open, but you must have valid identification and you must sign-in at the front desk, so come a little early. Mark your calendars for the following upcoming events and activities:
1. Amateur Radio Emergency Services (ARES) badging process, March 25th, TARC meeting, 7pm, Jaycee's Building on Singleton Ave. If you have already completed an application form, but have not yet received your badge, then this is the next opportunity.
2. Brevard County CERT Drill/Roundup. April 5th, all day, 2 sessions, one in the morning, another in the afternoon, location TBD, but probably Patrick AFB. POC: Nancy Smith, Office of Emergency Management
3. ARC Ride for the Red, Bicycle Tour of Brevard County, fundraising effort, April 26th, early morning to mid afternoon, Wickham Park Pavilion, Melbourne. There will be a Stop and Go (SAG) site in North Brevard at the Old Warbird Museum, TiCo Executive Airport. (early morning only) POC Ed Wirth, KG4KVO, North AEC. Added this year: Bicycle Rodeo for the youngsters, Police are running this event. Kids will love it & have lots of fun!
4. April 26th, The Brevard County Vietnam Veteran's Reunion activities kick off with their traditional Stand down, then on the 27th the Moving
